| 6th March 2010: This Is The Life Free Music: This Is The Life by Amy McDonald So, I had today all planned out. I was going to find out what my girlfriend thought of the flowers I ordered for her birthday, watch Adam with her, go to bed, wake up and go to Hampshire LUG today, do some shopping in Southampton then come home and then go to work. Well...everything went to crap basically. The flowers haven't been delivered yet. Well done there Interflora. According to their site, they haven't even been made up yet. Yeah. Thanks for that. On top of this, last night I got told by my girlfriend that the amazing present that I planned to send her, she already had. I should have taken that as a sign of the crapness that would ensue. But no, I try to be optimistic and I get get dung thrown in my face. So, she comes home from watching Alice In Wonderland (which I don't get to see here, thanks Odeon) and we end up not watching the film. Better than this, I also discover the MAC address on my laptop is missing - something I need to be able to use Wifi at Hampshire LUG. So I go hunting for my USB wifi adaptor and discover it's missing. Considering I was planning a huge coding session at the LUG meeting for my Linux distro, and therefore going to need Internet access, that makes the LUG meeting out of the question too. Hurrah hooray. And the kicker? I get to work with The Scotsman tonight. Alone. For 8 hours. Misery only compounded by the fact that Queen Chav will be in at 7am minimum, probably 6:30am, or even 6 if Daddykins is cleaning and she gives him a lift into work. And I have to work half an hour extra tomorrow. So yes, this is the life indeed. "We are all laying in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." - Oscar Wilde. Not me. I just saw a poo float past... Permalink |
